Small-time special has a small following, so a small amount of people know how small it is. Well, it just got even smaller.
We’ve decided to make it a monthly comedy showcase, instead of a twice-a-month open mic. It used to be every other Saturday, now it’s once a month, either on the third or fourth Saturday.
It was a very easy decision to make, because open mikes aren’t exactly fun to watch all the time. Most people are very bad at comedy, and don’t belong in front of an audience. There is nothing wrong with this, it’s just not pleasurable to be apart of.
We are excited to start booking comedians and focusing more on putting on a good show rather than just doing an open mic. That said, we will still be doing an open mic after the showcase. Comedians still need a place to go, after all.
The event will continue to take place at the wonderful Chicago Actors Studio.
